We are happy to have Lerato Dibokwane (left) join our flow chemistry team where she will be complementing our medicinal chemistry team by looking at the development of flow-based methodologies for the synthesis of neuroprotective drugs.
Read our latest paper here which details the selective reduction of aldehydes in the presence of ketones under flow conditions. Well done to Nicole Neyt who was the lead chemist on this article.
Our team was represented by Thomas Bates at our first honours level presentation on the 21st of July. Thomas gave a great talk on his efforts the synthesize novel anti-Alzheimer’s agents based upon the skeleton of know cholinesterase inhibitor Donepezil. Congratulations to Thomas.
The latest review from our group published in Synthesis. A concise overview of approaches to perform reductions of various functionalities including aldehydes, ketones, esters, imines, nitriles, nitro groups, alkenes and alkynes under continuous-flow conditions are highlighted and discussed in this short review.
