Flow Chemistry Europe 2018

We had opportunity to attend and present at the 2018 SelectBio Flow Chemistry Europe conference from the 6th to 7th of February 2018 where the latest developments in continuous processing and flow technology for the manufacture of chemicals and active pharmaceuticals were highlighted including keynote addresses by Professors Ian Baxendale, Claude de Bellefon and Jun-Ichi Yoshida.

Dr Riley presented on the potential role that flow chemistry has to play in an emerging pharmaceutical market in South Africa and highlight several of our flow based API syntheses. In addition our group was represented by two poster presentations from Nicole Neyt (Trituration under Batch-Flow Hybrid Conditions: A Total Synthesis of of the Anti-psychotic Clozapine) and Dr Jenny-Lee Panayides (Flow based synthesis of important synthetic intermediates).

Nicole did us proud being awarded 2nd prize for her poster (Sponsered by The RSC’s Reaction Chemistry and Engineering).

Hugh Cowley (RSC Reaction Chemistry and Engineering editor) congratulating Nicole Neyt on her 2nd place poster prize.
