Lerato’s research focuses on the the development of flow-based process routes to pharmaceuticals. Research highlights include the development of a flow approach to the synthesis of Donepezil an anticholinergic used for the management of Alzheimer’s disease and the development of flow-based approaches for performing Suzuki-Miyaura couplings. In addition, Lerato is involved in the development of methods for chlorinating organic molecules using flow photochemistry
