On the 3rd of October Divan van Greunen, Nicole Neyt and Valerie Ramoatsoa joined other postgraduates from across the SACI North region to participate in the annual SACI North Young Chemists Symposium.
Our team did us proud with Divan being awarded 1st prize in the doctoral presentation category for his talk on exploring chemical space surrounding the cholinesterase inhibitor Donepezil in an effort to identify novel new anti-Alzheimer’s agents and Nicole won 2nd prize in the masters student category for her talk on the utilisation of flow chemistry for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals.
